She’s in love with “Bob” who stays in an unhappy marriage because of his two children. She has been married to “John” for three years and recently told him about her affair with Bob. John wants to stay married. She’s not sure what she wants to do.
I said:
You are physically attracted to a man who cheats on his wife. You are willing to ruin marriage to a good man in exchange for what with Bob? John is long term whereas Bob is a man who cheats. However, that might not be a bad match in this case as you are cheating on John.
The losers here are John, Bob’s wife and kids. There is no reason to stay in a marriage because of the kids. Many men use this excuse if they want the freedom of other women without the responsibility of a committed relationship.
You’re lucky that John is still willing to stay married to you and wants to give you time to sort this out. Other men would have shut the door on you a long time ago. We doubt that Bob would be so understanding if you were his wife.
