Arbitration

Arbitration is an option to contested divorce litigation. Each person is still represented by their own attorney but their issues are discussed in front of an arbitrator who makes the final decision instead of a judge.

Arbitration could be less costly and quicker than courtroom divorce. It is not necessarily less stressful on the participants as they must agree to accept the arbitrator’s decisions regardless of the outcome.

Usually the decision of the arbitrator is binding and cannot be appealed.
