I’ve watched the reality TV show, Being Bobby Brown<\/em>, as camera crews have followed\u00a0Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston throughout their “normal” days and nights.\u00a0I definitely don’t see either of them as good role models. It was no surprise when their marriage collapsed and Houston filed for divorce in September 2006 to end\u00a0their 14-year marriage. Quite frankly, I’m surprised they didn’t maim or destroy each other years earlier.

\nThe current drama surrounding the battling couple is Bobby Brown’s claim that ex, Houston, has kept him from having contact with their 14-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina. In filings in Orange County Superior Court (California) he said he had not seen or spoken with his daughter since June and, due to Houston’s actions, didn’t see a way that he would see or speak with her any time soon.<\/p>\n

During their April court case, Houston told the judge that Brown was “unreliable.” The judge ruled the marriage dissolved effective April 24, 2007, and gave Houston sole custody of their daughter.<\/p>\n

The couple got married in 1992; at that time, Houston was at the height of her career as a Grammy-winning superstar, and Brown was an award-winning R&B singer, songwriter, and dancer who began his career with the New Edition in 1980.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
